Cryptshare
for Outlook
Cryptshare for Outlook is an add-on for Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2010 that automatically connects to the Cryptshare server which is a pre-requisite. As a special feature, Cryptshare for Outlook gives you the opportunity to encrypt the e-mail content as well as the attachments securing both.
When activated it does all of the attachment handling making the use of Cryptshare more convenient since you are using your normal e-mail workflow. Sent items will be stored in the sent folder. The files will be replaced by filenames.
Cryptshare for Outlook works with or without MS Exchange server connected. With the use of Cryptshare for Outlook, the e-mail size restriction becomes irrelevant since attachments are being handled by the Cryptshare server reducing the burden on your e-mail servers.
How to impliment
Cryptshare for Outlook requires an existing Cryptshare Server/Appliance/Virtual Appliance as prerequisite. It will be installed into the MS Outlook client as a plugin. No software installations or settings are necessary on server side. You can use an MS Exchange or POP3/IMAP account for Cryptshare for Outlook.
The plugin will communicate directly via https from the user's client computer with the Cryptshare system to hand over the attachments and retrieve download information. After the files are handed over, the plugin will add the download information to the e-mail and send the e-mail in the standard way.
Cryptshare for Outlook comes as .EXE and .MSI file that you can use to install on your local machine or use with your software distribution system to roll out on a larger number of client Computers.
